When asked to provide my professional bio I usually begin:  ”Long ago, in a galaxy far away (where the parting really wasn’t such sweet sorrow) I use to have an office job – fitted suits and pantyhose, salary reviews, cake in the public sector boardroom – where I felt like a prisoner in great shoes. But that’s just a small part of the story. The leap of faith from then to now has been a successful one. I was convinced of gypsy blood running through my veins and stopped trying to fight it any longer.

I now spend my days doing what I do best – learning about the lessons of life and bringing those lessons to life on the page in books, articles to international and North American journals, magazines and newspapers, and through public speaking engagements.

When I’m not writing, I can be found in the classroom, as an adjunct professor teaching university courses in Women and Politics and Politics and the Media.

 

Many have said that by drawing on my own experiences, and using as much wit and humour I can muster, I explore those challenges facing women in contemporary society. Not bad for a good days work.
